Anzac Day Poems

We all were lucky enough to have the local author Allie Paiva-Toledo, writer of “Wearing the Poppy”, come to talk to us about the process leading up to her writing her book.

We were so inspired we all wrote poems in response to all we learned from her. Brayden’s poem was so good it was read at assembly, published in Newsletter 10 and has been seen and asked for by the Pukekohe and Waiuku RSA’s for inclusion in their displays remembering the ANZACs’

Honourable  men  trudging  up  the hill.  

On  a  dreadful  mission  sent.

Now  silent  white  crosses  in  a  field,

 our  countries  heroes  spent.

Our  country’s  safe,  thanks  to  them.

How  will  we  them  repay?

Remembering  who,  fought  with  courage, 

every  ANZAC  day.

Under the Ocean Waves

Our unit study at the moment is about life under the sea. On Wednesday, Mrs Burden gave us a list of tasks based on the Key Competency-Thinking. Here are a couple of examples of what we’ve been doing:


Hello world!

Hi there everybody. We are pretty excited about this new blog. At the moment we are all crowded around Mr White’s desk as he frantically types this message. Man his typing is bad!

We are going to use this blog to fill you all in on what we think is interesting cool and trendy, and yes Mr White will not be editing this so it will be safe to read.

Come back soon, we’re sure you’ll find us an entertaining group.
